Barriers to Return-to-Work in a Context of Social Vulnerability is the timely topic for discussion at the Nov. 17 session of the Bancroft Institute for Studies on Workers’ Compensation and Work Injury. Keynote speaker Stephanie Premji, Assistant Professor, McMaster University, will address system-level and individual-level factors which may hinder return to work, especially among vulnerable workers. Her presentation will reference two studies on return-to-work difficulties – one conducted among injured workers in general and the other on linguistic minorities in particular. The discussion includes the implications for workers and their families as well as for our ability to accurately measure the problem.
